Watching the Detectives Week

Time to spin up Elvis Costello because, while blue-blooded robot detective noir is a literary favorite, there’s a lot of visual media to investigate. The one-season wonder TV series Almost Human is both as good as Firefly and touches on some teachable moments in science (will predicate calculus give you a synthetic soul?). There’s no science in either Automata: The Series, the inventive Prohibition-Era web series or Automata, the beautiful but vacuous 2014 movie that Antonio Banderas couldn’t save. We’ll start with Automata movie review but keep watching for more reviews throughout the week and hang on as we will end with a RTSF slideshow and podcast.
